PSG have a very interesting proposition for Arsene Wenger

This would be a whole new role for Wenger

This would be an intriguing managerial duo.

Paris Saint-Germain are used to getting what they want. Last summer saw them make Neymar the most expensive signing of all time, before swiftly following that up with the capture of Kylian Mbappe.

While stockpiling brilliant players is nothing new, a report in ‘L’Equipe’ today suggests that the Parisian club is planning to do something similar with their manager next season.

It is widely believed that the Ligue 1 club will be managed by Thomas Tuchel next season, despite the obvious and understandable rumours linking him with the Arsenal job, and the French newspaper believes that PSG’s hierarchy want both Tuchel and Wenger to work together in some form of managerial dream team.

Reports suggest that the club would be interested in Wenger taking on the role of general manager, or sports director, a position which is currently filled by a Portuguese man by the name of Antero Henrique.

Will Wenger be willing to take on a role he was unwilling to accept at Arsenal? Only time will tell. But a return to France, unlimited finances, a squad full of world class talent and the chance to once again tailor a club in his own image will undoubtedly be an attractive prospect for him.

And if it doesn’t work out, no harm. PSG can just go and hire Antonio Conte and Alex Ferguson to work alongside him.
