Pressure mounts on England coach Stuart Lancaster as bookies slash sacking odds

Things aren't looking good

Kevin Beirne

Stuart Lancaster’s days as England coach appear to be numbered.

At least, that’s what the betting public seem to think, with Ladbrokes announcing they have slashed the odds on the RFU to sack the coach from 10/1 to just 5/4.

That means they are now offering the same odds on Lancaster being sacked as they are for Australia to beat England this weekend.

We doubt that’s a coincidence, as Lancaster’s position may become untenable if his side become only the third hosts – and first main hosts – to exit the World Cup at the pool stages since the Welsh exits in 1991 and 2007 when some games were played in the principality.
