Premier League clubs on alert as lethal striker confirms he’s finally leaving

26 goals in 29 league games this season

You know which Premier League team could do with a new striker? Pretty much all of them.

Another year, another prolific season for Alexandre Lacazette, but he’s now looking for a new challenge.

A quick glance through the French marksman’s stats at Lyon will tell you all you need to know about him.

This season he scored 26 goals in 29 Ligue 1 matches, in the 2015/16 campaign he had a return of 21 from 34 and the year before that he bagged himself 27 goals in 34 games. With a dearth of elite sharpshooters available for purchase in European football, there’s no wonder why Lacazette is perpetually being linked with moves away from France.

Well, these discussions are only going to intensify after his recent interview with L’Equipe, in which he admitted that it’s now the ‘right time’ to leave.

“I want to discover something else, to put myself in danger and to pass a level. In vain I say that I put goals, I know very well that on a European scale, I am not yet very recognised.”

“I want to see if I can answer the questions that people are asking, and to make further progress. We are at a time when everybody finds his account, and that’s good.”

The front-runners to sign Lacazette are Atletico Madrid and Arsenal, but he would be a welcome addition to any side. Odds are a plethora of clubs are going to show more interest in the 25-year-old following these comments.
