PICS: Footballers from around the world share their Christmas snaps

Tis the season of good will to all men. And Instagrams to all good followers.

Some footballers were out training on Christmas morning, whilst others were enjoying domestic breaks from action. But they nearly all got to spend at least some time with their nearest and dearest on the Jesus' 2,015th birthday. As is now par for the course, many took to social media to give their fans a snapshot of their special days. Here's a small (but celebrated) sample of festive footballers in their opulently decked out homes. First of all we have the one and only Mesut Ozil. The Arsenal man's hotel room many not look particularly Christmassy, but we reckon that's probably because he had just assisted someone else with their decorations... Next there's LA Galaxy's Steven 'Stevie G' Gerrard, who thanked his followers for their 'incredible support' (thumbs up). His nod to the holiday season came in the shape of three very large bags for life... Then of course there's Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese was surrounded by friends in what looked like some kind of fancy marquee. Are the young women meant to be reindeers? It's difficult to say... Real Madrid teammate James Rodríguez was snapped in a more refined setting. Although we can't work out whether that tree is f*cking enormous or he and his missus are very very small... Robert Lewandowski posed aside a regular sized tree for his Instagram post. The Bayern man looked very dapper indeed, as if preparing for a posh soiree of some sort. Like Come Dine With Me, but Polish... Alas, when it comes to Christmas trees, it was bloody typical of the ever stylish Andrea Pirlo to trump all-comers with his quite beautiful effort. The man is a walking look book... Finally, there's Barca's Neymar, who was pictured happily perched upon the knee of possibly the creepiest looking Santa we've ever seen in our lives. Why the blue eye shadow? Why not...
