But Guardiola has thrown a spanner in the works with his most recent comments that suggest he may not be ready to set up shop in the Premier League until 2018.
"When I sign a contract I will announce it immediately," Guardiola said ahead of Bayern's first game since the winter break.
"Maybe it will be two years until I will coach a team in England. I am very happy about my experience in Munich. I am working until my last second here.
