Pedro hits out at Louis van Gaal as he explains reason for Chelsea move

New Chelsea signing Pedro is far from impressed with Louis van Gaal's treatment of his former teammate, Victor Valdes.

The former Barcelona goalkeeper has barely played for United's first team since moving to the club last year. A deputy to David de Gea last season, there is little indication that Valdes will be given many more opportunities this year having been cut from Louis van Gaal's Champions League squad. “It’s true that I don’t like that treatment for my colleagues, especially for Victor, who has been a reference as a teammate and as a professional," Pedro said. Whilst making it clear that he felt Valdes was being unfairly treated, the Spanish international goes on to explain that this had no bearing on his decision to join Chelsea instead of van Gaal's United earlier in the summer. “I don’t believe it’s fair, but it didn’t influence my decision," he added. Instead, the winger claimed that it was United's hesitance which made him opt for a move to Stamford Bridge. “I just saw that Manchester didn’t take that step, that they were taking too long and I needed a team to start.
