Paul Pogba opens up about Manchester United exit (yet again)

Get used to hearing plenty about Paul Pogba in the weeks ahead.

Not only is he set to be a key player for the French at Euro 2016, he's also primed to be the subject of ream after ream of tedious transfer speculation. In recent days, we've seen him linked with silly-money moves to the usual suspects Barcelona and Real Madrid, but some reports are suggesting Jose Mourinho fancies bringing him back to Old Trafford. Pogba left United for Juventus four years ago, frustrated at being unable to force his way into a midfield which included the likes of Anderson and Tom Cleverley. The 23-year-old has made it clear on numerous occasions that he felt undervalued by Sir Alex Ferguson, but his latest comments highlight how desperate he was to keep the Frenchman in Manchester. “I’m someone who says what he thinks," Pogba explained during an interview with ESPN. “Whether it’s Ferguson or Obama, I’ll tell him." (Just in case the 44th President of the United States of America ever planned on snubbing Pogba in favour of fielding a central midfield pairing of Ji-Sung Park and Rafael) “Ferguson came to my place. We talked. It did make me think [staying at United]. “He wanted to keep me, but I’d made my decision to leave.” At least Euro 2016 might take the edge of some of the transfer speculation for a while.
