Oldham Athletic bans three supporters for ‘promoting dislike’ towards club owners

Each supporter had a letter sent to them by the club, informing them they are no longer allowed to attend games

Football League club Oldham Athletic have banned three supporters for 'promoting dislike' towards the owners of the club, reports the MailOnline. Officials at the Latics have written to the fans in which they confirmed that they will no longer be welcome to watch their side after displaying a 'desire to promote' their 'dislike of Oldham Athletic' and encouraging others to do the same. Several actions, including a recent boycott during their 5-5 draw at home to high-flyers Forest Green Rovers have been taken as a way to protest against the owners, as well as throwing tennis balls on the pitch during games. https://twitter.com/AdamGMillington/status/1469711197272428554 The letter was sent by Oldham's general manager Steve Brown, who formerly worked for the Oyston family during their ownership of Blackpool after he was told to 'review the actions of individuals that we feel are deliberately geared to harm and cause considerable distress to the club, its fans and stakeholders.' As a result of the news, the Oldham supporters group - 'Push the Boundary' - have written an open letter to Brown to question and criticise the decision to ban the three fans, with a petition named 'Free the Oldham three' already receiving over 400 signatures.
