The Premier League's loss...

Real Madrid youngster Martin Odegaard admits he spoke to a number of Premier League clubs before signing for the Spanish giants at the start of this year.

Speaking after Norway U-21’s 1-0 defeat to their English counterparts, Odegaard admitted: “‘I visited Liverpool, the two Manchester teams and they were all very nice but my choice was Real Madrid and I am very happy with that.”

Odegaard has been included in Real Madrid’s Champions League squad this year and currently holds the number 10 jersey for Real Madrid Castilla – who play in Spain’s third tier.

When asked if he would consider going to an English club on loan, the 16-year-old said: “Maybe it will happen in the future and the time will show, but right now I am very happy where I am with my club and the situation there.”

We’d love to see him in a Premier League shirt doing this sort of thing on a weekly basis…
