Noel Gallagher only rates two Manchester United players

No love for Zlatan?

When it comes to a combined XI, Noel Gallagher isn’t willing to give away a starting place to any Manchester United player.

The die-hard Manchester City fan is set to be a studio guest for this Sunday’s Manchester derby and, ahead of the game, he’s given his verdict on the United players who might possibly make the matchday squad if he had both groups of players to pick from.

Unsurprisingly, Gallagher has thrown his backing behind City and suggested that he wouldn’t trade anybody in Pep Guardiola’s starting XI for a player from the cross-city rivals.

Previewing Sunday’s monster clash between first and second in the table, the former Oasis guitarist has suggested that there are only two United players who would make his matchday squad.

Gallagher claimed that he could find space on the bench for David De Gea and Marcus Rashford but insisted that nobody else would be troubling his selection.

“I’d take Rashford. I’d have Rashford on the bench,” Gallagher said.

“And I’d have De Gea on the bench. Rashford, though, is dangerous and I like him.

“And the ‘keeper has pretty much kept United the last three or four years but, other than that, they’re all making the tea.”

United host their noisy neighbours at 4.30pm on Sunday afternoon and can move to within five points of the league leaders with a victory at Old Trafford.
