The French international appeared certain to be heading to Old Trafford earlier this summer, even speaking openly about the possibility of a move during a television interview. However, a transfer ban for Atletico Madrid complicated matters, and Griezmann responded to the development by committing his immediate future to La Liga club.
Although many still expect Griezmann to arrive at United at some point in the next year, Neymar's departure from Barcelona could pose a problem. The report in Marca suggests that Barca will now target Griezmann, and are even willing to pay a figure of around £90m to help secure his signature.
