Neymar’s PSG deal could lead to departure of Liverpool midfielder

No, not Coutinho...

JOE

Sick of hearing about Neymar’s move to Paris Saint-Germain? Yep. Us too.

There’s a fair chance you’re also getting a little tired of the speculation suggesting that Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho might be one of the men Barcelona decide to spend some of their Neymar cash on.

However, if one report from Italy is anything to go by, Liverpool supporters should be more concerned with losing a different player as a knock-on effect of Neymar’s switch to the French capital.

Perhaps getting a little ahead of themselves, Corriere dello Sport claim Barcelona may move for Juventus’ Paulo Dybala instead of Coutinho – going as far as suggesting the Turin club have accepted the fact that the Argentine will move to the Camp Nou at some point in the future. With Juve likely to earn a decent wedge of money for Dybala, they suggest some of it could be reinvested in recruiting Emre Can to strengthen their midfield.

The German international finished last season strongly for Liverpool and has already been linked with a move to the Italian champions this summer. As with Coutinho, it’s unlikely Jürgen Klopp will be willing to let Can depart any time soon.

Liverpool begin their Premier League campaign away at Watford on August 12, before hosting Crystal Palace at Anfield a week later.
