Newcastle United - who are in no way, shape or form affiliated to the Saudi state - are reportedly in talks to host an international friendly between Saudi Arabia and Morocco in the September international break.
The Magpies, who are owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund, have held discussions with both countries' football federations about hosting the game at St James' Park on September 7.
Mexico are already facing South Korea in England on September 12, however a venue is yet to be decided.
Saudi Arabia's connection to Newcastle is a controversial topic which stretches way beyond ownership. The club came under fire last season for releasing an away kit which had the colours of the Saudi flag while this season's shirt features a Saudi events company as its sponsor.
The PIF were only allowed to complete their 80 per cent majority stake takeover on the basis they have legally binding assurances that the Saudi Kingdom would have no direct control of the club.
ESPN have reported that the Football Association would have to grant permission for the game to take place at St James' Park.
Eddie Howe is close to completing his first signing of the summer as Newcastle prepare for their Champions League campaign.
Sandro Tonali is close to joining from AC Milan in a £55m deal while Tino Livramento of Southampton has also been linked with a move from recently-relegated Southampton.
