Conor McGregor reveals plan to return to the Octagon

Well that didn’t last long

It appears that Conor McGregor wasn’t serious about retirement after all as he has revealed plans to return to the Octagon just a week after hanging up his gloves. McGregor has spent much of the past seven days on social media and engaged in an increasingly controversial war of words with the last man to beat him, Khabib Nurmagomedov. McGregor deleted a pair of recent tweets which were aimed at Nurmagomedov’s wife after public backlash, while the undefeated Russian has not held back in his responses to ‘The Notorious’. After UFC President Dana White released a statement and reached out to the rivals and their teams to warn them of their conduct, McGregor tweeted that he hopes to settle his differences with Nurmagomedov in the Octagon. https://twitter.com/KevinI/status/1113532243811528705 "I want to move forward, with my fans of all faiths and all backgrounds," McGregor wrote. Nurmagomedov submitted McGregor by neck crank when they met in the main event of UFC 229 last October but the animosity only intensified following the post-fight brawl which saw the lightweight rivals, as well as members of their teams, suspended and fined.
