Not sure if hideous or beautiful

Manchester City have released a special edition shirt to celebrate their six year anniversary with Nike. The shirt is a mash-up of some of their best jerseys from the past six years, combining some colours that you wouldn’t normally dare wear in the same week, let alone in the same garment.

The jersey combines various shirts from over the years, including this season’s incredible popular pinstripe navy away shirt, and last season’s grape coloured away top. There is a large portion of lime green for good measure, just in case you thought the design wasn’t mad enough.

As one commenter put it: “I mean it, [it] looks like an insane messed up mess… but I kind of like it.”

Another simply added: “It’s sick mate.”

The shirt is a limited edition number. If you want to be in with a chance of grabbing one, you’ll have to register your interest on the Manchester City club website.

It’s probably best that City will not actually be wearing this kit next season. It’s the sort of jersey that deserves to hang on your wall, rather than be worn out and about or even at 5-a-side.

City are not the first club to create a mash-up kit in recent weeks. Inter Milan, whose kits are also made by Nike, wore a special edition home kit that paid homage to their most recent home kits, combining the different stripe patterns to create what looks like a badly put together carpet.
