The Uruguayan, outstanding in Atletico’s title-winning side of 2014, has reportedly declined an offer of €6.5m-a-year in favour of staying put in Madrid, where he has been offered a new contract.
If he were to head to Manchester, surely Godin would be an ideal candidate to sure up the City rear guard.
