The win not only keeps United in contention for a top-four finish that seemed beyond them when Solskjaer took the wheel, it also set a new club record. Victory at Selhurst Park was their eighth consecutive win away from home - something the club has never achieved before.
Starting with the win at Cardiff City in Solskjaer's first game in charge, United have gone on to beat Newcastle, Tottenham, Arsenal, Leicester, Fulham, Chelsea and now Palace while on the road in league and cup fixtures.
Domestically, United have only failed to win twice under Solskjaer - both home draws in the league against Burnley and Liverpool.
Their only defeat under Solskjaer came in the Champions League last 16 first leg game with Paris Saint-Germain at Old Trafford. Trailing 2-0 from the first leg, United will have to prolong their winning streak in Paris next Wednesday if they are to stand any chance of progressing to quarter finals.Explore more on these topics:
