Man Utd have two European giants competing for Alexis Sanchez

Presumably, they haven’t been paying much attention to Alexis Sanchez’s form over in Italy lately

Manchester United’s hopes of selling Alexis Sanchez this summer appear to have received a boost with the news that two of Italy’s biggest clubs are interested in signing the Chilean.

Despite his high-profile arrival from Arsenal 18 months ago, Sanchez has looked a shadow of his former self while at Old Trafford, managing a total of just five goals for United in that time.

Last week, following their disappointing end to the season, he offered his apologies to supporters.

United are now willing to offload him as part of their summer overhaul. Though his poor form and extortionately high wage packet were thought to have been a problem in this regard, Sky report that Inter Milan and Juventus are both keen to take him to Serie A.

Inter have also been linked with Sanchez’s United teammates Romelu Lukaku and Matteo Darmian in recent days and their technical director, Piero Ausilio, is said to have held discussions with Sanchez’s representative Fernando Felicevich about a possible move.

Felicevich is also said to have met with Juventus’ sporting director, Fabio Paratici, with the Italian champions thought to be keen to take him to Turin.

Sanchez is no stranger to Serie A having played there with Udinese earlier in his career. His form convinced Barcelona to sign him in 2011.

United, meanwhile, are thought to be preparing for a busy summer in the transfer market. With Ander Herrera and Antonio Valencia already confirming their departures, United are in need of replacements at right-back and in midfield, whereas another midfielder, a central defender and a right-sided forward are also thought to be priorities.
