One of Europe’s hottest strikers could leave for a very reasonable fee
Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres is in the form of his life right now and it has been reported the bargain fee in which he could leave the Portuguese outfit for.
Following signing from Championship Coventry City last summer, the numbers he has produced since have been remarkable – last night’s hat-trick versus Manchester City only further distinguished that.
Every fan wants Gyokeres in their team, with Manchester United fans all calling for new boss Ruben Amorim to bring him with him to Old Trafford after last night.
And now the price-tag he could be available for has been revealed at as little as £63m next summer, as per The Times.
United are not the only side consistently linked with the Swedish striker, with Chelsea and Arsenal also reportedly posing an interest.
Gyokeres, 26, currently has an £83million release clause in his Sporting contract, which expires in 2028.
However, there is a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ which enables him to leave next summer for a lower fee.
Arsenal looked at the player last season, but decided against bidding for him.
Championship outfit Burnley and Premier League Wolves also battled to sign him last summer, before he opted for Sporting.
