Mundo Deportivo, Radio Catalunya/TV3 and Sport all reported that Ed Woodward had travelled to Spain to wrap the deal and end what was becoming another transfer saga.
However, El Mundo Deportivo are now reporting that the Manchester United Chief Exec has returned home to Manchester already, with no agreement in place.
They state that Barcelona refuse to budge on their €30m asking price - and they want the complete fee up front - whereas Woodward's best offer remains at €25m plus €5m in add-ons.
