De Gea – 7
Another solid display from De Gea, who could do little to stop CSKA’s goal.
Young – 6
Some shaky moments at the back, but looked dangerous coming forward.
Smalling – 8
Excellent again. A commanding display in the heart of United’s defence.
Blind – 7
Looked a little rusty, but excellent distribution and one majestic ball.
Rojo – 7
Forceful coming forward with some dangerous crosses. Terrible haircut.
Carrick – 7
A solid enough display with a couple of crucial interceptions, but visibly tired in the second-half.
Schweinsteiger – 8
A commanding presence and will be pleased with his first goal for the club.
Lingard – 8
One of United’s bright sparks. Full of energetic running and always a nuisance.
Mata – 6
Was integral in the build up to the second goal, but otherwise unusually quiet.
Martial – 8
Always looked dangerous, but somewhat wasted on the wing. Again.
Rooney – 7
Will be pleased with his goal, but still nowhere near his best.
