A major update in the prospect of a Viktor Gyokeres transfer to Manchester United has been issued.
Continuously linked with the club, the Sporting CP striker is one of the most sought-after attackers in the world going into the summer transfer market.
The Swedish international has long been linked with the likes of English giants Arsenal and United, who are both planning to make acquisitions in the upcoming window.
However, Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg has provided the latest today, stating that a deal between United and Gyokeres is now almost completely off the table.
It is also understood that it is not the objective of the player to engineer a move to Old Trafford either, with other options on the cards.
United, however, have made serious progress in their pursuit of Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker Matheus Cunha.
Late on Sunday evening, it was reported that the Brazilian has 'agreed' a long term contract at the Theatre of Dreams.
Not only this, he will reportedly receive his 'dream' number.10 shirt.
Cunha has enjoyed a brilliant season for the Old Gold, scoring 15 and assisting six.
