Luke Shaw suffers nasty head injury in clash with Dani Carvajal

The last thing Luke Shaw needs right now is a serious injury

Luke Shaw was forced off the pitch after just 50 minutes tonight after sustaining a head injury. Having got the assist to put England 1-0 up in the first half, Shaw's return to international football had started brilliantly. However a clash with Dani Carvajal early in the second half left him apparently unconscious on the turf. Physios attended to the injury for more than five minutes before the Manchester United player was carried off on a stretcher. Shaw was replaced by Danny Rose after the team of physios had carried him off the pitch. Martin Tyler, who was commentating on the match, announced during the game that Shaw was awake and on his phone, letting his family know that he was alright.
