Louis van Gaal has given Luke Shaw some time off from his recovery

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has given Luke Shaw some time off as the young left back recovers from the broken leg injury he sustained against PSV Eindhoven.

Speaking ahead of his side's return fixture with the Dutch champions, the United boss admitted that the decision to allow Shaw four days off was made after noticing the 20-year-old had become "fed up" with his daily routine and the prospect of his team-mates facing PSV. Shaww "Shaw was fed up with the daily routine and I saw why he was fed up. Maybe because it was PSV." Van Gaal also added that Shaw will undergo a scan on Friday to determine how his recovery from the double leg fracture is going.
