The goalkeeper's agent has dropped a hint that he could finally be on his way

It seems as though they’re willing to let him go

For months, there has been intense speculation over Alisson Becker’s future. The Roma and Brazil goalkeeper is wanted by many clubs including Liverpool, who are looking to replace Loris Karius.

But Roma’s high demands appeared to have discouraged Liverpool from pursuing the player – until now, as Roma are reportedly willing to listen to offers and have a replacement lined up should they lose Alisson, according to Italian transfer wizard Gianluca Di Marzio.

He won’t come cheap, but Roma are now all ears to concrete offers for their goalkeeper, touted by many as the best in the world. There had previously not been any formal offers made for the player, just informal inquiries. Alisson’s agent, Zé Maria Neis, will reportedly be at Roma’s training facility tomorrow to discuss Alisson’s potential exit with the Roma directors.

The agent has also dropped a huge hint that his client may be Liverpool bound. On Instagram, he has liked a picture of Alisson photoshopped into a Liverpool jersey, as shown by this eagle-eyed fan.

Liverpool know plenty about Alisson, having put seven goals past him across both legs in the Champions League semi-final last season. Despite that result though, he is still considered one of the best goalkeepers in the world by many – up there with David De Gea, Ederson and Neuer. In fact, he started for Brazil at the World Cup ahead of Man City’s Ederson.

If Alisson does leave Roma, Paris Saint-Germain’s Alphonse Areola is reportedly one of several candidates to replace the Brazilian at the Stadio Olympico.

The PSG goalkeeper has recently fallen out of favour at the Parc des Princes, after Gianluigi Buffon signed for the French champions from Juventus.

It’s looking positive for Liverpool, who have already confirmed the signings of Naby Keita, Fabinho and Xherdan Shaqiri as Jürgen Klopp looks to mount a title challenge with stronger squad depth. Add Alisson to that list and they could well be the team to run Manchester City close for the title next season.
