Liverpool fans cry conspiracy as Everton drop key players for Man City game

Liverpool could do with a favour from their city rivals on Wednesday night.

Having failed to take full advantage of Manchester City’s slip-up at Newcastle United last week by drawing their games with Leicester and West Ham, Liverpool could lose top spot in the Premier League to Pep Guardiola’s side by the end of Wednesday night (even though they’ll still have played one fewer game than City).

Having seen Everton’s starting XI for the game, some Liverpool supporters appeared to be of the opinion Marco Silva was also not too fussed about taking all three points against City…

Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson – both, on their day, important players for Everton – were both on the bench for kick-off. Though some might point out that the pair haven’t been on top form of late (very few Everton players actually have), their omission from the starting line-up was enough for some to start claiming this was Everton’s way of helping City…
