Lionel Messi was taken down by a pitch invader as a player intervened during a friendly between Inter Miami and Ecuadorian club Independiente del Valle on Friday.
Initially due to take place on 13 February, Messi suffered an unfortunate injury, causing the game to be pushed back.
With the match going swimmingly, despite an appearing kit clash, a fan decided to take the leap of faith and run towards Messi in the 89th minute.
Whilst this occurred, another fan, who was shirtless wrapped his arms around Messi, instantly causing a security guard to intercept and tackle both to the ground.
After a moment, the Argentine returned to a standing position and walked away from the situation.
None of Messi’s team-mates became involved, though Carlos González, on the opposition team, wrapped his arms around the legend.
