Leicester players can get streets named after them if they win the Premier League

The Mayor of Leicester is considering renaming the city's streets after this year's squad if the club wins the Premier League.

Not content with seeing a packet of crisps named after the club's top scorer, fans could soon find themselves walking down Vardy Avenue, Kanté Crescent, Schmeichel Street and Mahrez Corner. And according to The Times, Mayor Sir Peter Soulsby is determined that any renaming would involve the entire squad, rather than just one or two players. The Foxes are seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table with just six games remaining, though they still have away trips to Manchester United and Chelsea - as well as a home meeting with sixth-placed West Ham United - before the season's end. When Sir Peter suggest the whole squad will be honoured, we wonder whether that includes those who have barely spent any time on the pitch. Are Mark Schwarzer's cup appearances enough for more than an alleyway at the end of a more important player's street? How about Ben Hamer and Matty James, without an appearance in any competition this season? Will the mayor make them share? So many questions.
