Juventus ‘keen’ on signing Mason Greenwood

Greenwood is yet to return to training with Manchester United

Juventus are reportedly interested in signing Mason Greenwood this summer.

Greenwood was arrested on suspicion of rape and assault in January 2022, leading to an immediate suspension at Manchester United.

All charges against the forward were dropped in February this year but he has yet to return to training with United while they continue to carry out their own internal investigation.

It looks increasingly unlikely that the one-time England international will feature again at Old Trafford however The Sun have reported that Juventus have offered him the chance to return to football.

A source close to Greenwood told The Sun that he has apparently told friends that he doesn’t expect to play for United again, despite having a meeting with manager Erik ten Hag.

He said: “Mason believes he’s finished at United.

“He’s sat at home kicking his heels and very frustrated.

“He wants to get back playing football but realises his situation is very complicated and it’s his own doing.

“He is determined to play football again but doesn’t think he’ll ever pull on a United shirt ever again.”

The Italian giants have reportedly met with Greenwood’s representatives over a possible deal and are hoping that the chance to play with former teammate Paul Pogba again will be enough to convince him to make the move.

United are willing to send the forward out on loan – providing that a club pays the entirety of his £75,000-a-week wages – and are aware that although he remains under contract until 2025, are unlikely to receive any big-money offers.

AC Milan and Roma are also rumoured to be interested while several clubs in Turkey and China have allegedly spoken to United and Greenwood’s agents about a possible move.
