Klopp vs Arteta is the fight we never knew we needed

Mikel Arteta and Jurgen Klopp clashed on the touchline after Sadio Mane’s challenge on defender Takehiro Tomiyasu during Saturday’s clash.

The Gunners manager was furious after Mane caught Tomiyasu with a rogue elbow as the pair jumped for a header, with the Arsenal man falling to the ground after the challenge.

Klopp was annoyed by the Spaniard’s reaction to the tackle, storming out of his technical area while shouting at his opposition manager.

Arteta didn’t back down, charging towards Klopp while gesturing at the German.

Both of the managers had to be held back by members of their backroom team and fourth official Andy Madley.

Following the altercation, refree Michael Oliver walked over to further defuse the situation, before showing a yellow card to the pair.

It was actually Mane who opened the scoring for the hosts, with the Senegalese international placing a clever header past Aaron Ramsdale in the Gunners goal.

After the Liverpool No 10 had scored, Klopp couldn’t resist a further jibe as he cupped his ears in celebration.

The home side went on to dominate the remainder of the tie, doubling their lead just after half-time courtesy of Diogo Jota’s sublime solo goal.

The Reds quickly made it 4-0 after Mohamed Salah and Takumi Minamino grabbed a goal each, ending Arsenal’s run of four wins in a row.
