Judge orders football thugs to pay a visit to their local rivals’ club shop

JOE

A judge dished out the ideal reprimand for hooligans in Germany – by making them spend money in their rivals’ club shop.

Judge Karin Jung was proceeding over a case involving the supporters of local foes 1860 Munich and Bayern Munich.

In 2014, three 1860 supporters set upon a lone Bayern Munich fan as the Sixties played their famous rivals’ reserves in the Bundesliga 2.

Whilst assaulting the poor fan, the 1860 gang stole the Bayern man’s shirt and cap – no doubt nabbing the clothing as some sort of trophy.

In adjudicating the case, Judge Jung was less than impressed with the mob behaviour and dished out a heavy fine of €600 – but with a twist.

To cause extra embarrassment to the assailants, she ordered that €100 of the fine should be spent at the Bayern Munich club shop – buying the victim replacement merchandise.

As Jung herself explained: “I thought about what would really hurt them”.

Well played, your honour, well played.
