José doesn’t play by “the rules”

Manchester United were once again delayed in traffic tonight as they travelled to Old Trafford for their match against Juventus tonight.

Heavy congestion around the stadium meant that it took the United team bus over 45 minutes to make a journey of under a mile. But manager José Mourinho wasn’t planning to wait. Impatient to get to the ground in good time, Mourinho got off the bus and walked the rest of the journey on foot, through the crowds of fans.

Speaking ahead of the game tonight, he said he walked “in a hoodie” and that “nobody recognised him. Although evidently, some fans did, even if they didn’t pluck up the courage to speak with him.

Some eagle eyed fans spotted Mourinho in the crowds, though.

It’s not the first time this has happened to United this season; their match against Valencia had to be delayed by five minutes due to the home team’s late arrival at the stadium, caused by heavy traffic.

Despite changing the hotel that the team stayed at the night before the game, to one more local, the problems persisted. Mourinho says he has “informed the Uefa delegates about the situation, because we don’t want to be punished again.”
