While the purists will be hoping that the stylistically intriguing bout will result in a competitive contest, the champion reckons that it will be a relatively easy title defence. He claimed during a Q&A session on Combate’s Facebook page that the bout will be a cake-walk for him.
"As fast as possible, so no one suffers, including me, and we can come back home quickly to eat and celebrate. My last fight was a war, but we’ll suffer way less this time," Aldo said.
Aldo's last fight was a 25-minute war against Chad Mendes, which he won on the judges' scorecards. McGregor defeated Mendes in his last trip to the Octagon to claim the interim belt, but he finished the American wrestler a lot quicker, knocking him out at the end of the third round.

Despite his plans on for a quick win, Aldo admitted he would be willing to go the distance with the Notorious.
"It doesn’t matter if I’m going in there and finishing him quickly, if I’m punching him once and he goes down. The important thing is that I’ll come out victorious, it doesn’t matter what I’m going to do in there."
Aldo gave an update on his training, which was hindered by the rib injury that forced him out of their scheduled fight at UFC 189.
"We still have four months, so we’re slowly starting (my camp). When we’re nine weeks away (from the fight), we’ll work harder and be more focused on the fight. For now, be cool, I’m slowly coming back to training."
