Jon Jones hints he could return to UFC soon in now-deleted Instagram post

We're waiting to hear more about his "really good news"

We could be seeing Jon Jones back inside the Octagon sooner than we had initially expected.

Jones was set to headline the landmark UFC 200 card, but everything fell apart three days before fight night when it emerged that Jones had failed a pre-fight drug test. He was subsequently removed from the card entirely and has recently been taken off the official UFC rankings.

Usada confirmed that Jones tested positive for two oestrogen blockers – clomiphene and traces of letrozole, which are on the banned substance list.

Jones is currently awaiting a hearing with the Nevada Athletic Commission to determine his punishment and could face up to a two-year suspension from the sport. Considering his laundry list of past crimes from testing positive for cocaine metabolites in an out-of-competition test to his involvement in a hit-and-run in which a pregnant woman broke her arm, fans weren’t hopeful of seeing arguably the greatest MMA fighter ever return to the Octagon.

However, Jones uploaded a video to his Instagram account on Monday (which he quickly deleted) in which he gave his supporters an update on what’s been happening since he was pulled from UFC 200 and he seems adamant that good news is just around the corner.

“How’s a going ‘Bones Jones supporters? If there are any of you still out there. Just wanted to take a few seconds to say hello to you all and to give you a little update on how I’ve been doing.”

“Been doing really good, been training, been spending time with family, attacking some of these legal issues that I’ve gotten myself into, trying to really just leave that all behind once and for all.”

Jones addressed his recent failed drug test and while he didn’t give away much, he believes that he will be fighting in the UFC again very soon.

“I’m sure you guys are curious about what’s been going on with this Usada situation. Obviously I can’t get into it because it’s still pending, but what I can say is that we have found out lots of really good news and I am expecting to be back in the Octagon really soon.”

“Thank you guys for your continued support. Love you guys and I hope you are spending this Sunday with people that you love. Alright, be good and I hope to see you guys really soon.”
