When Jesse Lingard scores a goal, Jesse Lingard bloody well celebrates a goal.
That was again the case as he gave Manchester United the lead in their Carabao Cup game away to Swansea City on Tuesday night.
The midfielder marked the goal by pretending to play a flute, just like he did after scoring a screamer against Middlesbrough last season. As was the case that day, his choice of celebration caused a fair amount of fuss from some of those watching the game on telly.
To some, it was enough for Lingard to be fined by the club.

Others, however, felt it more appropriate to wish a career-threatening injury on the player...

Or a move to Sunderland...

Or suggest he deserved to be hit by a bus or an aeroplane...

The celebration was also enough for some to claim he had yet to have sexual intercourse.

And others to claim he was a small tailless amphibian.

It was enough to change dislike to sheer hatred for this supporter.

And then, with the stench of boiled piss drifting from Twitter timelines up and down the country, Lingard scored a second and did it all over again.
