American rapper Jay-Z is reportedly interested in buying Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
The 53-year-old - real name Shawn Corey Carter - is one of the most famous rap artists in the music industry and is also a record producer and an entrepreneur.
Back in 2010, Jay-Z showed an interest in buying Spurs' rivals, Arsenal and reports have suggested that he is leading a group of American investors who will make an attempt to buy the north London club.
As per the Daily Express, an associate of the rapper said: "More than a few of the very top clubs there – like Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea – are now under US ownership and Jay would jump at the chance of a controlling interest at board level somewhere with the global reach of Spurs.
"It remains to be seen whether Mr. Lewis will walk away free. If he doesn’t, Jay has said he wants to be in a position to move quickly if he feels the price is right.
"He believes this is achievable, especially with the backing of fellow investors."
Spurs are estimated to be worth $2.8bn with current owner Joe Lewis currently facing "insider trading" charges in the US.
Lewis appeared before court in New York last week where he denied 16 counts of securities fraud and three further conspiracy charges relating to alleged “insider trading” offences between 2013 and 2021.
He has been released on bail and will likely face trial later this year.
