He reacted to a very late challenge.

Jack Wilshere has been sent off during Arsenal’s recent u23 match against Manchester City. The England international reacted angrily to a late challenge from City’s Matthew Smith, pushing the player to the floor.

Wilshere spent last season out on loan at Bournemouth and was using the match to build up his fitness as he seeks to return from a broken leg.

As you can see below, Smith hits the floor when Wilshere pushes him following the late challenge from behind. Tyreke Wilson was also sent off for his role in the fiesty scrap that unfolded.

Before the midfielder saw red, Arsenal were winning 4-1 thanks to a brace from Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah – Wilshere even had an assist with one of the goals.

The 25-year-old suffered a fractured leg in April and is bidding to force his way into Arsene Wenger’s plans.

Arsenal Under-23s ran out 4-3 winners at the Emirates.
