Jack Wilshere is “in talks” with AC Milan about a move to the Serie A club

Would this be a good move for him?

AC Milan are interested in signing Jack Wilshere, according to reports in the Italian media.

Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Milan are “in talks” with the Arsenal midfielder about a summer move. Wilshere is out of contract at the Emirates in the summer and has yet to sign a new deal.

The England midfielder is one of several players at Arsenal who is out of contract soon. The deals for Aaron Ramsey, Danny Welbeck and Nacho Monreal expire in 2019, and it was recently reported that the trio have been told by the club that they will not be elevated into the top wage bracket alongside Mesut Ozil, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Wilshere has reportedly been told that he will have to accept a pay cut in his new contract to remain at Arsenal. This has led to reports linking him with a move away from the club. Everton are understood to have offered him a signing-on bonus worth £8m if he agrees to join them this summer. However, if that move doesn’t materialise, it sounds like Milan are interested in the midfielder.

Reports in Italy claim that Wilshere’s performances in Arsenal’s Europa League victory over Milan impressed the Serie A club, and manager Gennaro Gattuso is a fan of the player. It appears the 26-year-old has more options available to him than this time last year.
