Hull City are back in the big time after this screamer from Mohamed Diame

Back at the first time of asking

A goal good enough to win any game, let alone the ‘Most Lucrative Game in Football™’.

Hull City will be back in the Premier League after winning the all-Yorkshire play-off final against Sheffield Wednesday at Wembley on Saturday evening.

In the end, one goal was good enough to win it. It came courtesy of Mohamed Diame, who fired a peach of a right-footed effort beyond Kieren Westwood in the Wednesday goal with less than twenty minutes to go.

Steve Bruce’s side were the better side on the day and squandered several good chances before Diame’s goal eventually broke the deadlock. Bruce becomes the first manager to win promotion to the Premier League with a team on four separate occasions.

Eight years on from Dean Windass’ play-off final heroics earning them a spot in the top flight for the first time, Hull are back in the Premier League.
