Little did we know when ITV announced their studio experts for the Euros that the Croat would stand out as the star performer.
Not only has the 47-year-old provided eloquent and informative analysis of the first round of games in France, but he has charmed viewers with his dry humour and amusing interaction with fellow pundits. Unlike many Premier League managers, he isn’t afraid to speak his mind or laugh at his own expense.

He reached peak Bilic on Wednesday when Dimitri Payet, the player he bought from Marseille for a bargain £10.7m a year ago, scored France’s second goal in a vital 2-o win over a stubborn Albania side. To say that the Croatian was happy for his West Ham playmaker is something of an understatement.
With Ian Wright and Christian Karembeu watching on, the elated Bilic mounted the ITV studio desk in jubilation and raised his arms in utter joy. Wright could hardly contain his laughter as his fellow pundit basked in reflected glory. What a manager and what a man – Slaven Bilic we salute you!
