George Ford and Jonathan Joseph set to be replaced for England’s Welsh clash

England are set for a change at fly-half when they face Wales in Saturday’s Pool A match, with George Ford being replaced by Owen Farrell.

Sam Burgess is also set to come into the side, earning his third England cap as he replaces injured centre Jonathan Joseph. The injury to Joseph’s chest, picked up in England’s victory over Fiji in the opening game of the World Cup, was initially not expected to keep him out for more than a week.

After Wales, England face Australia on October 3 before a final Pool A game against Uruguay a week later. The top two teams from the group will then progress to the tournament’s quarter finals.

Stuart Lancaster is set to announce his team  for the Wales clash on Thursday morning.
