Gary Lineker's donation definitely stands out.
Following some disgraceful vandalism to their home ground, Salford United JFC Girls took to Twitter to ask for some help in repairing the damage done to their clubhouse and pitches.
The club's owners arrived at the clubhouse on Monday to discover that their dressing rooms had been trashed and vandalised with vulgar graffiti, while the equipment was also damaged by those who broke in over the weekend.
While the account only has 175 followers, the call for financial assistance quickly gathered momentum and they are well on their way to the £5,000 target, thanks in no small part to the generosity of Gary Lineker.

The Match of the Day host pledged £1,000 to the cause and made his 7 million followers aware of the fundraising effort by tweeting that he'd donated a huge chunk of the target on Tuesday afternoon.

The
JustGiving page allows you to see how much each person has donated and Lineker's figure certainly stands out but, at the time of writing, the club requires plenty more donations to make sure that they can afford to replace the damaged equipment and return the clubhouse to its previous condition.
We often see the ugly side of football but, in times of need, it's great to see the football community come together for a great cause.
