Fury is reentering training camp ahead of his targeted WBC heavyweight title shot against Deontay Wilder later this year but several reports have poured doubt on the fight taking place. Earlier this week, Fury was forced to dismiss claims that he was having second thoughts about the bout and now promoter Frank Warren has had to explain why his star heavyweight's lack of a licence in the United States is not a cause for concern. A Sky Sports article, published on Friday, explained that Fury had not yet applied for a licence in either Nevada or New York, which are the two most likely locations for the Wilder clash. But Warren, who is aligned with BT Sport, claims that the report was no more than a rival broadcaster attempting to disrupt his plans to put together one of the biggest fights of the year. Warren insisted that it was typical for promoters to begin hyping fights long before fighters had been officially licensed and even used the example of Anthony Joshua's upcoming opponent, Alexander Povetkin, to highlight his point.
