The latest season of Amazon Prime's acclaimed Formula E: Driver docuseries returns to streaming this Friday the 28th of November.
The four-part series goes behind-the-scenes in the "world's fastest-accelerating" motorsport over the course of the 2024/25 season, Formula E’s most fiercely contested campaign yet.
Filmed and produced by Astronaut Films, the second season of Formula E: Driver will bring viewers unprecedented access into the intra-team rivalry between then Porche teammates Pascal Wehrlein and António Félix da Costa (now of Jaguar TCS Racing).
Despite both representing Porche last year, this didn't stop Félix da Costa and Wehrlein from going head-to-head for the title, and every second of that drama has been captured by the Astronaut Films cameras.
This is best summed up by Pascal Wehrlein himself, who said: "Being part of Formula E: Driver Season 2 was an incredible experience.
"It really gave me the chance to show fans what life is like beyond the visor - the moments that don’t always make it to the broadcast."
Félix da Costa added: "Last year pushed me harder than ever - physically, mentally, emotionally - and most of that journey happened far from the spotlight.
"What fans see on track is just the surface. This series peels back the curtain to reveal the grit, the grind, and the behind-the-scenes intensity it takes to stay competitive at the highest level.”
This season captures the intensity of the championship like never before, and I think viewers will get a real sense of the passion and dedication that drives me on the grid.”
The 2024/25 season saw Nissan star Oliver Rowland's rise to become World Champion for the first time, and viewers will be privy to every second of drama that led to his crowing moment.
Jon Alwen, the Executive Producer on the series has also spoken on what will make Formula E: Driver such an engaging watch: “We’re thrilled to be throwing our audience back into the Formula E paddock for a second season.
"We wanted to give viewers a seat in the heart of the garages and take them even closer to the action and the Formula E drivers than ever before.
"Too often, now, many sports documentaries are overly sanitised and semi-scripted; Formula E: Driver is the opposite of this.
"Our cameras were there to capture all the genuine drama as it unfolded, and this latest season delivered in ways we couldn’t have even dreamed of.
"From standout rookies to bitter season-long rivalries and the most remarkable rise to the very top of the sport, it had it all. We can’t wait to share it.”
Formula E: Driver will be available on Prime Video from November the 28th, and will be available to all Prime Members at no additional cost. Click here to sign up now.
Watch it all before the new Formula E season begins in Sao Paolo on December 6th.
