A former Chelsea legend is in talks to become the next manager of Championship outfit Cardiff City, as per reports.
The Bluebirds sacked manager Erol Bulut in mid-September after a torrid run of form, which left them rooted to the bottom of the table.
Accumulating five points in nine games so far this season, the South Wales outfit remain last in the league and have reportedly turned their attention to a former star of Stamford Bridge in the hopes of turning their fortunes around.
And now according to Chris Wheatley, the Bluebirds are 'in talks' with Claude Makelele.
Omer Riza is currently taking charge of the club as the interim manager, with it understood the search for a new gaffer includes just two: France icon Makelele and Reading manager Ruben Selles.
Makelele left his role as Asteras Tripoli boss after only three weeks in charge and it is reported he is up for a new challenge.
