It’s Jude Bellingham’s world and we’re all living in it

Jude Bellingham was rightfully praised once again for another outstanding display in a Real Madrid shirt.

The teenager scored twice for Los Blanocs in their 4-0 win against Osasuna on Saturday to make it 10 goals in 10 games for his new club – becoming the first player to achieve the feat since Cristiano Ronaldo did in 2009.

Bellingham opened the scoring in the ninth minute before doubling the lead at half time. Vinicius Jr and Joselu scored in the second half but it was the England international who was lauded by the Spanish media.

AS hailed the 20-year-old for “rejuvenating” the team with the headline: “Generation Bellingham!”

They added: “The Englishman leads the rejuvenation [of Real Madrid] with six other [players] under 25 years of age.”

Spanish media have been overwhelmingly positive following his exhilarating start to life at Madrid and have given him tags such as “the boss” and even compared him to a “cathedral”.

Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti admitted that he has been surprised yet impressed by how quickly Bellingham has adapted to the way the youngster has adapted to life in the Spanish capital.

“What’s surprising is he’s only 20,” he said after their Champions League win against Napoli last week.

“It seems like he’s 30 with his character, his personality. He’s always focused, he knows what he has to do. That’s strange for a player who’s just 20. And then the quality he has, the physical strength.

“Obviously it’s a bit surprising, it’s surprising everyone.”

Some comparisons have even been made with Zinedine Zidane, but Bellingham immediately downplayed those.

“That’s a bit too much! It was a nice goal,” he responded.

“From what I’ve seen on YouTube and documentaries, his quality was a bit more than mine, or a lot more. I’m just trying to contribute in a Jude way.”
