For example who cost more: Diego Maradona or Titus Bramble?
Remove inflation and it's an incredible question. Which got me thinking about all kinds of comparisons between transfer fees for players. Who cost more out of Andy Carroll and Gianluigi Buffon? How about Marcelo and Andy Robertson? Vidic and Godin? Sterling and Figo?
The premise is simple. We give you two (or more) football players, you tell us who had the highest transfer fee without adjusting for inflation. It sounds easy. But it isn't.
For the sake of consistency, all transfer fees are in Great British Pounds sterling and are taken from Wikipedia (which cites proven sources) or TransferMarkt.co.uk.
