Everton fans plan to sing the chant in the 10th minute

Everton fans are planning to protest their recent 10-point deduction during their game against Manchester United on Sunday.

The Toffees were hit with the largest points deduction in Premier League history last week after they were found guilty of breaching the league’s profit and sustainability rules.

As a result, Everton go into this weekend’s game 19th in the table on four points, above Burnley thanks to goal difference only.

Everton have described the decision as “unjust” and confirmed they would be appealing.

Supporters of the Merseyside club are particularly angry given that the case against Manchester City’s alleged 115 charges remains ongoing as well as other clubs.

According to The Times, those going to Goodison Park this weekend will voice their anger and chant “Premier League corrupt as f***” in the 10th minute of the game.

Ofcom broadcasting rules state that televising material that could cause offence to viewers should be restricted where possible and given that kick off is at 16:30pm, there are fears families and children will be watching in large numbers.

In a bid to stop this, colleagues at Sky Sports have reportedly held an internal meeting where they decided how best to stop offensive language being heard on air.

One of the suggestions – which has been used previously – is to reduce the volume of sound being produced by the crowd and even introduce pre-recorded crowd sounds to play over the top.

An Everton supporters’ group, named the 1878, have even supposedly raised £40,000 to fund protests and have plans to fly a plane over Anfield during Liverpool’s game against Manchester City on Saturday as it will be dark during their kick off.
