Clearly, PUMA have drawn inspiration from that design when creating the Magpies' latest away kit, which was officially unveiled on Monday morning. A similar maroon and blue colour scheme has been used for the shirt, with the same horizontal stripes also evident.

'The kit is a contemporary take on the Magpies' iconic change strip worn during the 1995/96 season,' reads a post on the club's official website.

The club's crest and PUMA logo appear in gold, while player names and numbers will be printed in white on the back of the shirt. The kit will be completed with white shorts and maroon socks.Explore more on these topics:
