United are looking to cash in

Manchester United could be willing to let Casemiro leave in January, if they receive a suitable offer.

United signed the Brazil international last season and despite making a huge impression in his first year at Old Trafford, the second has proved to be far more difficult.

The 31-year-old was signed for £60m and is reportedly on £300,000 per-week – something that fans are mindful of given his age.

In amongst his recent drop off in form, the midfielder has been one of several players at Man United to be linked with a move away.

Alex Crook of TalkSPORT reported on Tuesday night that as part of Sim Jim Ratcliffe’s imminent arrival, the INEOS billionaire has identified Casemiro as a player that they could generate significant funds to overhaul the club.

90min revealed earlier this month United believe that they can recoup “a large chunk of their initial expense on the player, in terms of transfer fee and wages.”

They added that while the club are not actively looking to sell, they would consider moving the former Real Madrid man for the “right price”, with clubs in Saudi Arabia said to be monitoring his availability.

Additionally, a move to the Middle East could see the midfielder link up with former Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr or international partner Neymar at Al Hilal.

Casemiro still has four years left to run on his contract at United however United may see this as an opportunity to cash in while his stock is still high enough.
